(Wednesday, October 27, Day 128)

"The contents of this website are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. Government or the Peace Corps."

Phrase of the day: Y por "vamos a capturar un caballo!", lo estuvo significado "vamos a capturar un mulo"?... And by "lets go catch a horse!", did that really mean "lets go catch a mule"?
Yeah, I don't really know if it was a mule or not, but it was definitely tiny. Mario hopped on it for a second, but that was really it. We did go catch it though! We ran through the fields with lassos and everything; it was pretty exciting.

The hike down the hill to their farmhouse was nice, as well.
After catching the "horse" we went in the woods to find banana trees. Mario's aunt is going to plant them at her farm becuase she has more room and it is way more organized there.
Unfortunately, that meant we had to carry the trees back up the hill too! Good work Mario. He has (only) one in is basket.
These grow all over the place at the farm:
ps: I know these past few blog entries have been pretty weak. But get pumped; I'm going to Cuenca this weekend for Halloween, so lots of pictures and stories to come.

  1. Last night the news reported on the first guys who answered President Kennedy's call to join the peace corps, it made me think of you!
Glad you are doing well, and enjoying life.
