(Monday, October 25, Day 126)

"The contents of this website are mine personally and do not reflect any position of the U.S. Government or the Peace Corps."

Phrase of the day: Pienso que estas el primero gringo aqui; jmm, o por lo menos el primero indio!... I think that you're the first American here; hmm, or at least the first Indian!
That's right! "Here", being the almost fully-constructed bridge over the Chone River. It's going to connect San Vicente with Bahia de Caraquez, and be the largest bridge in Ecuador. Crazy, I know. But this country is tiny, so I guess everything is?
And yes, I said "almost fully-constructed" because it's definitely not ready, or open, to the public as yet. Mario is crazy, so we somehow found a way to walk across it. (Really, we just walkled along the beach, passing all of the constructions workers, and hopped up on the bridge close to the water). Good work Security. And we saw some good views of Bahia.
Go ninja, go ninja, go!
Yeah, that totally made my day. It's always the little things, you know? And yup, it is kind of like an auto rickshaw in India, but the drivers here definitely do not drive as crazily!

I thought this was pretty cool. I think the Rotary Clubs of Bahia and somewhere in Japan worked together to have it donated by the Japanese Government.
For lunch we ate at this really nice spot near the beach. They literally only had dishes that had seafood, but it was still good. Nope, I just ate cucumbers and tomatoes with lemon juice... salad, right mom? ha!
And your flower today was taken at the restaurant where we ate lunch:
